Good news: City Council increased the small business property tax discount yesterday. But there’s more work to do. Expanded eligibility still relies on the outdated avenues map, which leaves out businesses that need support just as much.

After 19 long years, the Eglinton Crosstown LRT is finally open! While there’s cause to celebrate, we can’t forget just how drawn out and expensive this process was. The only way forward is full accountability from the provincial government.

A year since I argued climate advocates need to focus on quality of life improvements, shortly after the axing of the carbon tax. At the municipal level, climate policy is affordability policy: Transit investment, gentle density, shared space. These cut emissions AND lower costs.
