AOC: "This is about, do you understand the assignment of fighting fascism right now? And they assignment is to come together across difference no matter what."

Colonel Walker in ward 9

I’m so mad. Our voting line is over 2.5 hours long. People are leaving. Parents don’t have childcare during the strike. Kids can’t wait that long.
Check on your neighbours. Offer childcare. Bring an extra camping chair and toque and water for someone in line.

Called and it’s because of the new provincial legislation. Give yourself lots of time to vote!
Figured it out- it’s because of new provincial legislation. Of course.
Why does a form need to be completed for each voter? Really slowing down the process!
Love this so much!!
Get out and vote, Calgary!
And dress warmly. Slow line at our polling station. Why does a form need to be completed for each voter?? Takes a lonnnggg time to get your ballots. #yyc
Every public health expert - “We need to reduce barriers to entry for vaccines and increase availability!”
UCP - “So you’re saying we should open up a month and a half window to rebook vaccines for a year from now?”
Experts - *Sob uncontrollably*

Congratulations!!!
And intersectionality, broadly. (At least where I live)
ICYMI: A privately owned, sole-sourced app that collects personal health information of people entering recovery programs was launched as ‘voluntary’ in 2024 to comply with Alberta privacy laws.
Eight months later, it wasn’t voluntary anymore.

Graph showing EMS dispatches for opioid poisonings from late 2022 to present. There are two sharp spikes in dispatches – one in mid-2023 and the other beginning in late 2024 and carrying into March 2025.
In the last month, Edmonton had its highest, third-highest and fifth-highest EMS dispatches for opioid poisonings on record.
EMS dispatches correlate closely with deaths.
Saskatoon is going through the same, despite SK adopting the "Alberta model."
You can't fix a poisoned supply w/ treatment. 1/
I’m excited to vote for a woman 💪. And one with such incredible credentials and experiences no less.
Christopher Holcroft: This is a moment for courage and candour, responsibility and resolve, for rallying behind that which makes us stronger and calling out those who would make us weaker. 🏒
Pic of Mark Carney Poilievre’s riding among seats with highest turnout in Liberal leadership race Mark Carney swept all ridings, provinces, and territories, while Ontario Liberals accounted for more than half of all votes cast.
~How sweet would it be if Poilievre lost his riding?
That's through the hard work of @brucefanjoy.bsky.social
pounding the pavement in Poilievre's riding through heat, cold, snow and rain and being an overall great guy!

Tl;dr:
AHS CEO did her job to ensure that AHS was awarding contracts appropriately, discovered that the AB govt was likely giving contracts to their hockey box friends with the fake Tylenol and they fired her to keep it quiet.
"While the allegations around Alberta Health Services implicate hundreds of millions of dollars in procurement spending, Mental Health and Addiction expenditures should be similarly examined in light of the new allegations."

It’s so frustrating. I’m also frustrated by all the empty “investment properties” that sit totally un-used in my inner city neighbourhood. There’s 3 on my block alone! I know people who would love to live in them but the owners can’t be bothered with renters.
Sadly, it’s not surprising. Especially given the ways Marshall Smith dismantled harm reduction before turning to the entire health care system. @drugdatadecoded.ca has been connecting the dots for awhile.

Yup. There it is in plain sight. Chaos in our health system so their friends get rich.
I hope the NDP will push for an investigation.
Ordered! I can’t wait to read this, Garth. The Next Page here in #yyc was able to pre-order it for me.
