What a lot of Green councillors at the LGAI conference in Leeds today.

Talking about lots including: community cohesion, climate resilience, emotional labour, social isolation, who's voices are not being heard in your council?

This is a truly horrifying account of increasingly likely collapse of essential natural systems which would bring mass food shortages, price rises & global disorder. Commissioned from UK intelligence chiefs but scandalously suppressed by Govt, & sneaked out now while attention is elsewhere πŸ‘‡

Don't really know ... but 0% turn-out in many areas is clearly damaging to voter trust and sense of control.

Millions of people to see their local council elections delayed Most wanting a delay are Labour-led but two are Tory councils and one is a Lib Dem authority.

Disappointing to see so many Labour and Tory councils avoiding elections across the country.

Presumably because they think they'll lose.

People have the right to vote for their elected reps.

Even when we don’t have freezing rain in Sheffield, this surfacing is really slippery. Further up the hill it forms part of a cycle route, on a steep hill.

A bone-headed decision from councils past, and now we’re stuck with it.

The PM and Foreign Secretary should be condemning this illegal strike and breach of international human rights law.

After years of arming a genocide and worshipping the β€œspecial relationship”, Trump now believes he can act with impunity.

UK set to limit refugees to temporary stays Shabana Mahmood is expected to say the era of permanent protection for refugees is over, in major changes to the UK's asylum and immigration system.

When you adopt the policies you once opposed, you risk becoming like the very forces you once criticised. Labour’s temporary asylum plan echoes the harsh approaches they used to stand against.

House building slumps to lowest level since 2020 sees job losses and falling confidence in Labour’s plans to fix the housing crisis.
Latest figures[1] from the construction industry show a sustained and deepening decline in housebuilding in the UK as the slowdown reaches depths not seen since early 2020.The lack of confidence in the sector is resulting in lay-offs and recruitment freezes.

Most worrying is the slowing down of new work in the pipeline. New orders have fallen for eight months in a row. Even big names in the industry are starting to see their order books dwindle.
