Rly loved the pod, particularly the women in Orwell's life of which I was ignorant. Slightly disappointed in the talk of POUM, brave volunteers dedicated to the kind of democratic socialism Orwell was so taken with in Barcelona and of course depicted in Ken Loach's wonderful 'Land and Freedom'.

Never understand the need for everyone to do jarring, cringe-worthy karaoke at these things. Just have a nice, chill couple of pints, do some schmoozing, and save the livelier sessions for an evening not swarming with journos/ people trying to make you look like a knob
