It looks great, doesn’t it! And I love that that they’re doing it online and in person simultaneously. I miraculously have childcare that day, but otherwise I would also have tuned in remotely.

Oh no! I wasn’t following it, but I’ll report it now!

I remember a stunning children’s book about it, called The Mousehole Cat - it’s going back many years, but they made a gorgeous animation of it as well.

Snap decision and ticket bought - I loved the last two years at the Women’s Prize Live (even if this years was a bit on the chilly side!) and met such amazing book folk there each time.

Amazing books, inspirational women, a beautiful garden: what more could anyone ask for? 🥰

I’m using it the same as Twitter - which mainly means scrolling and liking loads, starting to type a post, then spiralling into self-doubt of whether it’s funny / clever / engaging enough, then ultimately deleting it 😅

I used to do this in the early days of twitter so, before this place becomes feral...got any questions about children's publishing/writing? I won't have all the answers but I worked in publishing for 15 years before going full time as an author, here for all your demystification needs. #Kidlituk

Mine are carefully placed in the order in which I plan to read… until more arrive, & I forget where I wanted to start… then I add more, & can’t find the one I was looking for… but ooh yes I forgot about this one… & then I’m curled up reading, which was the plan all along.

Life is FIRMLY in the way of writing at the moment. It’s that kind of season.
My goal is not to let the mammoth “shoulds” weigh me down too much… I’m half way through a round of structural edits on my twisty-turny psych crime novel, can’t wait until i have breathing space to get back to it 🩵

I know exactly what you mean, and I think it’s why I stayed for so long. But, sadly, I don’t think there’s a way back for Twitter now.
I’m hoping a new beginning here will recapture some of what was lost.

Another twisty crime with female friendship in the foreground, this time set in a charged & polarised political landscape, with suspected murder amidst party political skullduggery.

Just getting to know my characters, loving it as they surprise me ❤️📝

Just realised the clocks go back while we’re at @jerichowriters.bsky.social Festival of Writing next weekend:
It will be the first time in 9 years that I’ll get to enjoy the treat of that extra hour - instead of just being woken up at the same ungodly time as always by my little person!
