It’s a useful guide and does help you with maps etc and provides a lot of information but you must be keen to get a lot out of it. But for example Lesser Butterfly Orchid does not give you specific places due to its rarity
We have the second edition it was published 2017 so not that old though I don’t use it often

Front cover of the Dorset Bird Report 2024, showing a 1st winter 'Isabelline' Shrike perched on the top of a narrow branch, set against a blurred green. The report's title is in large white font in the top left of the image, & the club's logo (a Hoopoe overlaid on an outline of the county boundary) is in the bottom right.
Screengrab from the Dorset Bird Club website explaining the Christmas membership offer, with a photograph of a Hoopoe and the club name forming a narrow banner at the bottom of the image.

The practice dates from when locals were forced to survive by any means. Now they can go to a supermarket & do NOT need to kill Gannets for the fun of eating them. Some traditions just need to be stopped for good @naturescot.bsky.social
No more Beewashing please! Why beekeeping doesn't help conserve bees. Pls RT if you agree.
