I went through all the system settings carefully, and got the gallery to recognize my photos once again, but now it has to reload all of them from internal memory, and from the SD card.

Now, I really go overboard about saving stuff, so, yeah, this is gonna take a while!

It was about that time when my having mindlessly clicked through those permissions occurred to me.

It turns out I was due for a new software update, so I thought that might've had something to do with this, but after downloading & installing it, the same problem remained.

Yeah, about that gallery, funny thing was, I no longer seemed to have one!

I quickly checked my folders, and sure enough, all of my MANY thousands of photos were all still right there, but my gallery didn't seem to know anything about that!

I downloaded a festive gif to send, but the preview for it looked weird in the Twitter app.

Nevertheless, it attached & uploaded just fine, and looked just as expected when I checked the tweet afterward.

I was curious about it though, so I decided to check it in my gallery.

I installed a new pdf reader, then mindlessly clicked through its permission settings (and keep that stupid decision in mind for a moment), and then my new issue displayed perfectly.

I closed it for now, 'cause I remembered a birthday greeting I wanted to send someone over on Twitter.

Got an email announcing CERN Courier's latest edition, but my download had poor resolution, so I assumed some downloading error.

I deleted it, then went to their website to download another copy, but it also had poor resolution, so I suspected some issue with my pdf reader.
