Usually typos don't bother me but I still think with irritation about the time they spelled "l'esprit d'escalier" as "l'esprit d'escolier" in a Buffy comic. It would've been fine if Buffy was saying it, but it was Willow! Willow would never do that. Proofreading saves lives!

Yes, I do think I've learned something each time - you're right, it's subsconsious rather than conscious knowledge. We have deep structures laid down inside us by each book. And I think best out loud so I do love learning by talking.

Writing is definitely thinking. I wish it stuck for me tho. I've written dozens of books now (including my non fic) and my mind appears to wipe itself each time I write or edit a new book and I have to learn from scratch how to write or edit THIS book.

Our 3rd grade students loved making origami dog reading buddies. Their teacher shared that they were excited to show them to her (this is typically a hard class to engage) 🐶❤️📖 our read aloud was Yuna’s Cardboard Castles (A Virginia Readers’ Choice book).

WBD was amazing at the school library, we gave away hundreds of books, had some fantastic book conversations and the children were just so enthusiastic. It really gave me a boost

I think we should up the price of all new books by £1 and have a system that collects the increase for a ring-fenced library fund to reverse the decline in library accessibility…
