Another year, another @uantwerpen.be university team in the Antwerp 10 Miles in April, which is sponsored by TWO (2) oil companies. I thought the university was supposed to be "climate neutral" by 2030 and "fossil free" by 2050 - but is fielding a team at a fossil fuel PR event in a climate crisis??

Map of the United States displaying hydrogen ion wet deposition levels from measurements taken in 1985 by the Central Analytical Laboratory. The map uses a color gradient from green (low deposition) to red (high deposition) to show varying levels of H+ deposition (kg/ha). The highest deposition levels are concentrated in the northeastern U.S., while the western U.S. has the lowest levels. Black dots indicate measurement locations. The map is sourced from the National Atmospheric Deposition Program/National Trends Network
Map showing hydrogen ion wet deposition measurements across the United States and parts of Canada, indicating values in kg/ha for 2022. The color gradient represents different concentration levels, with a scale on the right. Sites not pictured are listed at the bottom. The map is mostly green, indicating that H+ deposition is no longer a environment issue that it once was.
Another dataset I like is from the National Atmospheric Deposition Program, which has maps of the US that show we fixed the acid rain problem by implementing stricter emission controls on power plants.

👏 Great news!
🇫🇷 Today French MPs voted to #BanPFAS from consumer products like clothing and cosmetics.
Over 140,000 citizens called on their MPs to back the ban & this is a huge win for the protection of people’s health & environment in France.

Concordia University hired Israeli security firms to suppress pro-Palestinian student protests.
I don't know who needs to know this, but Pro Publica has an online thing that will format a letter to your US health insurance company to demand the records behind a claim denial. (which the insurance is then legally required to provide in most cases)

« C’est comme si c’était la fin du monde. On doit protéger nos enfants des insectes, de la chaleur, et il n’y a pas d’eau propre, pas de toilettes, et pendant ce temps, les bombardements se poursuivent. On a l’impression d’être des sous-humains. »

You seem to have misunderstood.
A reduction from 8 billion to 2 billion would have zero impact on the climate - the richest 80 million humans cause more greenhouse gas emissions than the poorest 5 billion humans.
