And with so many daft comments just like this, its clear that the vice chancellor and the whole of the UEB not only has no idea what we do but just openly disdains us.
The fact is that we've never had a manageable workload and the university facilities have been held together with chewing gum and toothpicks for years.

A new industrial mandate will give us the tools to organise as a community and stand up to the decisions being forced on us by those in power.
Future Nottingham, CMC, course closures, student staff ratios, the slashing of research time... all of this is going to destroy the foundation of this university and what makes it so necessary at this precise moment in history.
Your @ucu.org.uk branch is once again organising to take industrial action against the devastating decisions made by the VC and the executive board.
Sometimes solidarity is getting up slightly earlier and taking a weird route to work so you can post your industrial action ballot.

Now is not the time to back down.
When your ballot arrives, send it back ASAP and make your voice heard. And if you have issues with voting, whatever they may be, reach out to your reps.
We've already felt the devastating effects of future nottingham on our university. And we know we have solidarity across our union (record high turn out on our indicative ballot) and between unions as well (all three unions banding together to deliver a vote of no confidence? - HISTORIC).
There's been an IMMENSE amount of stuff to vote for recently, but we got an important one showing up in our mail boxes. This industrial action ballot will give us space to fight back against the university with both strike action and actions short of strike for an entire year.

It's clear that this administration is doing everything in their power to undermine our faculty and sell off the university for parts. So we're taking a stand.

Hey! We're in the news again! And if the University believes that all press is good press, they're nailing it.

You can't have a university without staff. Yet somehow managers (and trustees?) seem to think you can have a university without that staff trusting management.
We WILL fight until the university changes course. And we will NOT stop until it happens, using every tool at our disposal.

This vote is a show of solidarity, one that speaks to the unwillingness of our faculty to let this administration undermine the work that our community puts into research, teaching, community building, and support.
