My son enjoyed the fact that we lost IMMENSELY π€£π¬

Not a great film but Andrew Garfield is GREAT and it still made me cry buckets because I always cry at most filmsβ¦ π€£π¬

Massive congratulations to Italy btw. They have deserved more wins from the championship this year and they thoroughly deserve this victory. ππππ
Nothing unites the internet like England getting beaten. Looking forward to school on Mondayβ¦ π¬π€£π¬
I know this is weird (given that a version is out this year) but Kaurismaki doing a weird version of Camusβ βLβEtrangerβ speaks to meβ¦
Radu Jude doing A Clockwork Orange? Alice Rohrwacher doing The Odyssey? Marie Kreutzer doing Our Mutual Friend? Christian Petzold doing Farewell My Lovely?
PTA doing Kafkaβs The Castle?
In Feb I enjoyed Murder on the Links by Agatha Christie, 1923, which brightened those dull & damp days! Here are a few thoughts on this lesser known but very entertaining early Christie ππ #BookSky #BookReview https://app.thestorygraph.com/reviews/1c75d97d-2f23-40e8-a46d-e90ee5f78fbc?redirect=true

One of my favourite Iranian films. So powerful and so good.
The poster for Jafar Panahi's The Circle (2000)
First watch: The Circle (2000). Still working through Mubi's Jafar Panahi collection in chronological order and this is a belter. The film follows with great urgency a series of women in Tehran whose lives briefly intersect, finally coming full circle, back to the character in the first scene. 1/3
God bless Arrow π
I havenβt although it was recommended by a couple of mates. You liked it?
Oh and I LOVED Messiah of Evil
When it comes to horror, I am pretty predictable in my tastes. Carpenter, Argento, Bavaβ¦
Seem to be a bit less interested in keeping up with exciting new work (which is daft, given the talent that is out there!).
I am fairly open-minded and will give everything a fair go. Unpredictable narratives rate highly with me!
Hark at you! New records? I thought you were out of new release circulation π€£π
I am aware of his work but have shamefully neglected watching it. Thanks for the nudges π

As we know only too well Colin! π
YES! Adore their work. Just extraordinary. A Canterbury Tale is in my faves of all time β€οΈ
I like his work very much (although I think his βNo Endβ is one of the bleakest films that I have ever watched π€£π¬).
LOVE Jarman and Akerman too. Argento is a fave. Fulci can be more of a mixed bag for me but when he hits with me, he hits hard. Prefer his Giallo to the zombie stuff. Lewton is a legend! The stuff with Tourneur β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
I can well imagineβ¦
Wow! I imagine that a lot has changed - it has since I arrived and that was 2005 π€£π
Sounds like a great spot Paul β€οΈ
