In front of the Pantheon in Rome, where myth meets stone, and grandeur meets time.
Nothing reminds us of the eternity of an idea like architecture that has withstood history for centuries.

The scarcest dust jacket around: Graham Greene's "Brighton Rock" July 1938. Because readers hated it. 8000 copies printed, but everyone threw the jacket away. $50,000 to buy one. (Don't be fooled by the facsimile.)

Shiʿism is not merely an old political dispute, but an intellectual tradition that deeply shaped law, philosophy, and mysticism. Understanding its roots illuminates the broader history of Islam.

By the 3rd/9th century, Twelver Shiʿism crystallized with the doctrine of the Great Occultation, shifting Imamate from political leadership to spiritual authority.
#Shiism #IslamicThought #History
Early Shiʿi divisions, Kaysāniyya, Zaydiyya, Ismāʿīliyya, Twelvers, reflect complex debates: Is Imamate based on divine designation, or on consent and shūrā?
#IslamicThought #Shia #History
The earliest “Shīʿat ʿAlī” were not yet a doctrinal sect, but a political group affirming Imam ʿAlī’s unique merit and leadership. Shiʿism later developed doctrines of Imamate, infallibility, and the awaited Mahdi.
#IslamicHeritage #Shia #History
Shiʿism did not begin as a closed sect, but as a political–religious movement centered on the legitimacy of the Prophet’s family. Its roots go back to the question: Who holds authority after the Prophet?
