But are they not required to offer any assistance that they can *safely* offer, like radio for assistance, offer survival equipment, etc.? It's not like they were in a mutual "engagement". They were the only aggressor - and, of an arguably partially or unarmed ship, now incapacitated.

Correct. However, I submit it will be because of what Trump has already *done*. If he stopped now, these risks won't. Martyring their religious leader will never be forgotten or forgiven.

2 years from now, 5 years from now, 10 years from now, and 20 years from now, Americans are going to be subject to attacks here and all over the world because of what Trump is doing right now.

I don't think so. Their hubris has them believing that they are invincibly powerful - this is their greatest weakness and Iran is exploiting it. This will not end well for us - and much of the world.
