happy world women's day you magical beings. im so greatful and proud to be one of you🌬️🫧✨
all the notes of empathy or carepackages sent my way
or daily check-in's
i cannot thank you enough
for showing me that there is an overwhelming amount of love in my life still
while it feels so excrutiating to lose the love that belonged to a life partner
to all beds and couches shared or offered
to all baths poured with love
to all meals cooked or pizzas in bed ordered for me
so i would eat
to all messages of solidarity and encouragement
all mental hugs
𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚:
it needs an army of loved ones
to heal one broken heart
to all the arms that catched me
to all the open hearts comforting me

March 8th is not celebrated; it is commemorated, because memory is the only loom where the future is woven with justice.
Today, that date is not a gift on the calendar, but an unwavering echo. It is a reminder of those women workers who, amidst fabrics and ashes, wove with threads of courage the rights that embrace us today.
Years later, that same spark would cross oceans, igniting hearts in Russia, where other women, weary of war and hunger, would bring an empire to a halt on March 8th.
They marched through the cobblestone streets, defying the icy wind and the disdain of a society that preferred them silent. Their footsteps echoed like drums heralding a new era..
Exhausting workdays, meager wages, and hands cracked by thread and needle finally exhausted the patience of those who carried the great industry on their weary backs.
It was 1908, and the deafening roar of the sewing machines was drowned out by a unified cry. They weren't asking for luxuries; they were demanding dignity: "Bread and roses!"
The Echo of the Looms: The Story of March 8th
The smoke from New York factories blackened the sky, but it couldn't obscure the fire burning in the eyes of thousands of women.
