I testified in support of my bill to prohibit health insurance companies from using AI to deny prior authorization for health care. Technology should improve our health care, not create new barriers that prevent patients from getting the care they need.
One of my bills received a public hearing yesterday!
That may not sound like much, but in the current GOP-controlled legislature it’s pretty rare for a good bill to even receive a hearing when a Democrat is the lead author.

Working Wisconsinites deserve a living wage. I’m proud to be an original author of legislation that would raise the minimum wage to $15, increase it to $20 by 2030, and automatically adjust to keep pace with the cost of living.
Had a great meeting today with nurses from the 14th Assembly District to talk about expanding access to care, supporting our health care workforce, and making sure patients and providers have what they need to thrive. Thank you to the nurses who show up every day for our community!

Proud to vote in support of postpartum Medicaid expansion and breast cancer screening, which is also known as Gail’s Law.
You all did it! Tonight, after months of relentless advocacy, the Republicans caved in tonight and will bring up Gail’s Law expanding breast cancer screening and post-partum Medicaid expansion up for a vote tomorrow. If they’re clean bills, they will be passed and signed into law.
Postpartum Medicaid expansion and Gail’s Law should have been passed long ago. The delay had real consequences for moms and families across Wisconsin. I’m ready to support clean legislation that guarantees continuous coverage and lifesaving screenings. Let’s get this done for Wisconsin families.
NEWS: Assembly Republicans left the Capitol mid-session to attend a fundraiser at the Madison Club hosted by Jobs First Coalition.
This comes as Assembly Democrats are working to force votes on two bills that have been blocked by Speaker Robin Vos.

I’m here at the Capitol ready to work for my constituents and pass policies expand access to healthcare. Instead, Republican lawmakers left the People’s House mid-session for a political fundraiser. The people of Wisconsin deserve better than this.
I was proud to sign onto this letter urging Republican leadership to bring Gail’s Law (AB 263 / SB 264) to the Assembly floor for a vote.
No one should have to skip lifesaving breast cancer screenings because of cost. This bipartisan bill deserves a vote.
While Republican legislators are pushing their bigotry and culture wars, Assembly Democrats are focused on the real issues that matter to the people like lowering costs and improving the quality of life for all Wisconsinites!
