Personally, I don't mind either way about people in audio dramas, because I feel they should be more affected by the listener. What I'm curious about more so is environments and monsters from audio drama, because words can only do so much to explain those.

A brown pillow on top of which rests a piece of paper with a pattern of dots, as well as a partially completed bobbin lace piece. A pincushion sits to the side of the lace.
Experimenting with lace making, this is my first attempt. I've made so many mistakes; anybody that's experienced, please forgive me.

Me wearing a red and blue patterned button up shirt. The shirt has short sleeves and a collar.
The cloth I wove makes for a nice warm shirt for the winter.

A long red and blue piece of cloth laying on the floor and up a half flight of stairs. My wife is holding the cloth up at the top of the stairs to show its full length; she is completely covered.
After 4 or so hours this morning, finished weaving the cloth. I love looking at it all when I finish, gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.

That's definitely a horrible thought, and unfortunately it's not outside the realm of possibility. I pray the day we don't have to deal with ICE any more comes swiftly

A loom with partially woven cloth with a red warp and blue weft. The shuttle rests on top of the warp threads.
A close-up of the cloth from the previous picture. On the left is a series of repeating diamonds while on the right is a series of Finnish twill shapes.
Finally back to doing some weaving, it's been too long. I also totally messed up the sleying, but was too lazy to fix it. I think the cloth looks nice enough anyways.

A woman wearing a white wedding dress with a beaded bodice and belt. The bodice has a series of gold circles on the top followed by several rows of pearls and thin arches. She is holding a bouquet of red, pink and white flowers.
My then-fiancee-now-wife wanted to have a Princess Serenity dress to get married in, so over the course of several months I made it for her. The design is heavily based off of Firefly Path's similar dresses, with a few tweaks. I learned a lot while making it!

Just a little table loom couldn't hurt... but then what if you want more weaving space? Ok, get a bigger table loom, too. But what about those 8 or 12 shaft designs? Time to get a floor loom or two... wait. Where did all the space go?

A back pocket for a pair of jeans that has been embroidered with a white and pink flower. The flower is flanked by two small vines with one leaf each.
Took a quick detour to embroider a pocket. Not too bad for my first actual embroidered piece.

Probably somewhere in the middle. I'm planning on topstitching with heavy thread, and I'm hand cranking all the thick spots because I want to protect the machine.

I did a bit of googling, and it depends. A cheap pair of jeans looks like $30-50 (not on sale), and denim fabric is $10-20/yd(no sale). I used about a yard and a half for the pieces, so with pricey cloth that breaks even, but quality may be higher. If you have fun making stuff, it may be worth it.

A loom that has had about a quarter of its white threads removed from the reed and heddles. Two lease sticks have been placed between the threads to keep them in order.
Ok, I lied. It was bothering me too much. Well that's why I wound extra warp, I guess. The cut off piece will be a nice finishing test, at least!

A close-up of woven cloth made of white cotton thread. The majority of the pattern is a repeating diamond motif, or bird's eye twill, but in the middle of the image is a column of patternless threads, interrupting the flow of the piece. Not shown is the tears of the creator.
Dammit... I'm two feet in to weaving this and I only just noticed a threading error... at this point I'm just rolling with it. It took me several days to notice, so I doubt anyone else will.

An eight-shaft loom warped with about 32 inches of white threads. A shuttle is resting on the warp, loaded with the same white yarn. Sunlight is shining on the back half of the loom.
Finally finished dressing the loom with a new warp, only took me a couple weeks of slacking off... this time I'm doing a study in textures starting with some bird's eye twill.

A warping board wound with white cotton thread standing in front of a living room view complete with couch, cluttered coffee table, and T.V.
I love warping in front of the tv, I can be productive while still watching whatever, as long as it's not the news. Gotta try to keep that mental health intact

Two pillows on a gray carpeted floor. The pillow cases have a pink zig-zagging twill pattern bordered on the left and right by checkered white and pink strips. The bottom edge is lined with white cloth and a zipper.
The fiancΓ©e wanted some cute pillow covers for our couch, so I wove a pattern and made some. I miscalculated the length by a bit, though, so I almost didn't make enough >_<

First image: a decorated egg sitting on a wooden table next to a lamp. The egg is a reflective silver sitting on a gold, lacy pedestal interspersed with faux gems. Two rings of faux gems ring the middle of the egg, which is split so it may open, tilted up towards the back. Atop the egg is two gold leaves, each with a small gem, and a small gold flower with a crystal coming out of it.
Second image: the same egg as described in image one but opened on its hinge to reveal that it is a ring box containing two silver rings. The ring in front is set with three moissanite gems, and the ring in the back is set with three aquamarines. The inside of the ring box is lined with red velvet, and a piece of white foam has been placed in the bottom to hold both rings.
I love making anything I can, so when I wanted to propose to my SO, of course I made the rings. It was my first try setting gems, and I think they turned out alright. Almost had a heart attack when I thought the cast failed. My great gma made the egg

Image description: Two blue-and-yellow gingham-style woven scarves draped over the back of a patterned armchair. The scarf on the left is noticeably thinner than the one on the right, and the pattern blocks are more rectangular, whereas the scarf on the right has square blocks. Discarded packaging and leftover yarn are scattered on the floor.
Here's the first thing I ever wove. At first, I miscalculated the sett, making it too tight on scarf one, but I kinda like the cording that resulted. I resleyed the reed for the second scarf, so it's "correct." Basic 2/2 twill.
