Nuremberg is out, and I am making a special request you go see it.
Go see Nuremberg: not only will it teach you about the Nazisβ many, many crimes, including the Holocaust which is (rightly) the one thing people know about the Third Reich.

Europeβs Noise Capital Tries to Turn Down the Volume
To combat the ill effects of urban noise pollution, Paris is deploying automated sensors and cracking down on the loudest vehicles.
βThe effort to quiet Paris complements the wider campaign to make Paris greener, cleaner & less car-dependent, which include vehicle restrictions in the center, crackdowns on polluting vehicles, & an ambitious expansion of bike networks. Those have cut the cityβs average noise level by 2 decibels.β

A photo of a woman and a child sharing a book together, both smiling. Plus the words: "Reading for a brighter future - BookTrust's strategy 2025-2030" in a banner, and: "2.15 million - the number of children we'll reach in the next five years, including at least 1.7 million families with low incomes"
No child should miss out on the life-changing benefits of reading.
So over the next five years we'll be working hard to support early years families - with a particular focus on those on low incomes.
Read our strategy to find out how we'll do it:

East West Rail train on a test run at Oxford station
Chiltern Railways has conceded that East West Rail services from Oxford to Milton Keynes are unlikely to start this year, after troubles were first reported by the Clarion. A statement that βwe are confident that trains will be running this yearβ has been quietly removed from their website.

Aberfan disaster - Wikipedia
59 years ago today. I can remember watching our grainy black & white TV. My tough old mum sobbing. The little school that looked exactly like my own. The terrible sense of utter tragedy.
It's the first 'news event' I remember.
144 died, 116 of them children. Rest easy.β€οΈ

Graphite drawing of a forest scene. A cedar tree next to a jagged stump on a mossy hill, with the roots exposed and entwined. The foreground consists of soft leaf and grass texture.
Forest study with graphite powder and pencil. It's funny that, in a way, I never really gave graphite a proper chance since I love color so much. Incorporating the powder actually makes it much more enjoyable to me, as it's starts almost like a painting.

βOnly 5% of migration is from small boats, but it gets 95% of the headlines. It would be ludicrous to cut legal migration when we have 150,000 NHS vacancies."
Zack Polanski says politicians must stop fuelling fear and start telling the truth about immigration.

154,000 New York City Students Were Homeless Last Year, a Record Number
BUILD SOCIAL HOUSING.
In NYC alone βIf children who lack permanent housing made up their own school district, it would be among the nationβs 20 largest public school systems β bigger than those in major cities such as Baltimore, Denver, Philadelphia or San Diego. β

I see the "The Greens are damaging Labour" narrative has started after Labour's slide in the polls. Labour, in it's current form, is no longer fit for purpose. People have every right to look to alternatives.

Making the case for wealth taxes on @SkyNewsPolitics just now. Rumours that Chancellor might seek yet more spending cuts are horrifying - public services are already on their knees & top 50 richest families in UK now hold more wealth than the poorest half of the population - over 34 million people.

A beautiful morning on the Llangollen Canal near Ellesmere, with narrowboats echoing the colours of autumn. This is a favourite spot of mine, especially at this time of year when the beech trees along the towpath turn a glorious shade of red and gold. #Shropshire

About 5 years #carfree for us. Well north of Β£10k saved. Iβm used to it now but βfreeβ is the right term. It honestly felt like having a weight lifted. No stressing about insurance, huge unexpected bills & money wasted at petrol pumps. Journeys are now fun. π π π π π² πΆββοΈ
