March 6, 2026 What it means to be a Woman No, I do not want roses or chocolate. I just want equal rights and equal pay. I do not want you to call me a princess. That's not the point of 'Women's Day'. A simple piece of jewellery is not enough. For our ancestors fought with their might. Because of the suffragists and suffragettes women have been granted a voting right. If you must gift me, I ask you for respect. Don't ever tell me to calm down or to smile. Marriage and kids shouldn't be my sole focus. I'm a warrior. I'm a woman. I'm worthwhile. ©Tania Carina Pires
