The loss of solid middle class incomes for the mid list in all creative endeavors is a choice, a choice made by the people who dominate publishing, journalism, cinema, TV, music … and it doesn’t have to be this way.
The reason we don't have a robust and curious games media to tackle the subject of why video games have become unsustainable is basically the same reason why video games have become unsustainable. It's an industry built to protect the profits of a handful of rich men, and the NYTimes are in on it.
