I had never heard of the Magdalene laundries in Ireland before I read this novella. I started this around Christmas 2024, but then I got about halfway through, forgot about it, and then didn’t finish it. I’m glad I went back to it.

god… this was devastating and one of the most beautifully written books I’ve read in awhile. There were a few times where I didn’t think I would finish it because it was so painful to read, but man was it worth it.
