PAIR is an EU-funded project to develop rapid and reliable detection methods for respiratory RNA viruses and foster pandemic preparedness thanks to 2 ambitious and interactive technologies: PANPOC and PANRISK.
The recent study “A multi-disciplinary approach to identify spillover interfaces of bat #coronaviruses to pig farms in Italy” by Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie, investigates the potential risk of coronavirus spillover from bats to pigs in intensive farms in Northern Italy.

PANPOC is a portable, user-friendly device that rapidly detects RNA respiratory viruses with pandemic potential in human, animal, and environmental samples using a fluorescence-based optical system and a touchscreen for quick, accurate results.
