L’évaluation neuropsychologique ne permet pas de prédire les rechutes chez les fumeurs : résultats d’une étude prospective Le tabagisme demeure un défi majeur de santé publique, malgré une baisse significative de sa prévalence mondiale. Les programmes de sevrage tabagique se heurtent à un obstacle de taille : le taux élevé de rechutes. Environ 70 % des personnes qui entreprennent un sevrage rechutent dans les six mois suivant l’arrêt, soulignant l’importance d’identifier les facteurs prédictifs de ces échecs. Une question centrale est de savoir si les performances neurocognitives, évaluées par des tests neuropsychologiques, peuvent prédire le risque de rechute. Une de nos récente étude prospective s’est penchée sur cette question et a révélé des résultats surprenants. Voici les principaux points à retenir.
