Photo: spoonflower colormap by sef on the right, realfabric on the left Not sure how noticeable it is here but spoonflowers prints have this visible fuzzy grain to the naked eye. It's fine from afar but up close it's quite distracting. Realfabric prints much richer and crisper and their satin is at least 1.5x as heavy, which is not saying much bc spoonflower satin is near cheap costume tier
Photo: up close of previous photo Check out how crispy clean RFs text is in comparison. Spoonflowers blog says they downscale to 150dpi bc it's better that way but I think the 200dpi print from RF says it all. I'm glazing them a lot but their service has a lot of downsides like the aforementioned color issues, no swatch offerings bc they print from Korea (something u have to glean from their socials and and faq), and bc it prints from Korea it takes 3 weeks to get here. Also no cotton sateen
May do a proper post when I've ironed and serged things but quick comparison of spoonflower (left) and printree(aka realfabric, right) color maps
I really like RFs quality but you *will* suffer from their color codes not matching the screen by a long mile. More rabblerousing in alt!

Poppy...pipopapo....
spent all day troubleshooting why my hip hemline was riding up and this has been an excercise in being cursed with knowing where all my asymmetries are
Happy birthday to the one and only akane shinjo ๐

Sofwave ???/10 A slow burn, trust the process type procedure. Also painful. For all of what it was marketed as, I feel like it works best as a skin tightener. My face wasn't doing too bad so the most I got out of it was seeing my pores tightened over time. My neck otoh got the most benefit from it. It was starting to look like chicken skin and after the advertised time to see results had passed, most of it had mostly gone away. On top of red light usage the combo is ๐ค for my mobage habits. The necklines are still there though, umas can't train themselves for CMs so ๐ Overall, dubious cost to benefit ratio but maybe as I get older it'll shine. However I did notice my satisfaction with filtered (lol) selfies went up after the results kicked in so maybe it was worth I definitely wish I could access ulterapy/thermage easier here bc their results were what I really wanted but just tiny town (capitol city) woes?
Botox - forehead, "brow lift" *actually dysport 4/10 Expensive for how long it lasted especially when you have to go through a period where the entire world (your muscles) are weighing down on you. Was cool having ojou sama forehead for two months but at the same time seeing my eyebrows bulge felt uncanny. My favorite part was feeling my glabella fight against it (/gen) bc I have a pretty bad brow knitting problem thanks to dry eyes. Background - I've been struggling with feeling the upper outer part of my eyelid touching my bottom eyelid. Visually not a problem but sensationally it was very off-putting bc it only happens on one side and distracts me when I'm idle. So I tried the illusive Botox brow lift. The "brow lifting" felt like a double edged sword where I liked that I wasn't feeling my outer eyelid weigh down on the bottom eyelid and my eyebrows were even for once but it came at the cost of my eyelid height coming down ๐ (mild ptosis Is a common side effect). It was one of those moments where I was like did I pay to look like this However! Would entertain 1-2x a year treatments to keep those 11 lines in check
PRF EZ Gel In Progress ~vampires~ Requires minimum two sessions to see results because the first run your body reabsorbs the blood Looked great the two weeks it was settling in! Whether the second session will be real or Hocus pocus remains to be seen ๐ Very injector dependent. Often confused with regular PRF which is using your own blood for microneedling during facials
Pavise Eye Cream 10/10 Seeing my drooping eyelids open up despite the Botox wearing away has had me clapping. It's very expensive but you only need a grain sized amount each time and can get away with using it once a day to stretch it out
Final - procedures/medspa: if you feel uncomfortable with this sort of stuff feel free to scroll on by~
I'm aware of the implications of Beauty Standards and All That....however I'm driven by vanity and know my own limits so ๐
1) medicube - tbh I don't use it consistently enough to see Results but I did stop getting mascne since using the air shot mode. I also like using microcurrent and the orange mode for depuffing at cons. Bonus it doesn't require gel like the nuface does! Not sure how the tariff situation is but you can stack coupons at stylekorean and get it cheaper than from the main website. 2) lip red light mask - could be placebo but I find it tames my lips really well when they're chapped and peeling 3) red blue acne wand - only works on the not quite formed pimples but you can feel a huge cystic kind coming. Both bump and pain disappear in 2-3 sessions but you have to catch it as soon as you feel it (#oddlyspecific yes but I get these bumps the most and the scars take forever to go)
Pt 3 - Tools!
1) Luna Concealer - creamy, easy to mix, and pretty much sets for the whole day when dried 2) hince fall in rose - my go-to neutral palette, it's got rosey tones in its shades and the highlighter is pretty. Also conservative Asian parents love it! 3) Canmake Creamy Touch Liner foggy plum - if it's dcd I would cry about it on the internet forever. I use it in place of brown/black eyeliner 4) fwee RD05 Greedy - I love using it for a final touch of flush in cosplay 5) lilybyred youth pink (?) - My base color for blush in cos, i love the way it brightens everything up 6) heated eyelash curler - declumps mascara and helps set curls so it lasts longer. However its fallible in the face of high humidity

Part 2 - most used year round
1) VDL Blue Color Corrector - I feel like correctors tend to be touchy but I love that it removes my green undertones and esp for wigs that make you sallow. For daily it's good for highlighting sunken areas and neutralizing eyelids so eyeshadow shows up better 2) lilybyred muscat shower - I've been big into muted shades but it's hard finding ones that work for my pigmented lips. It comes out darker without lip liner but with it it's the perfect muted mauvey pink ๐ค 3) romand browcara - dusky rose and modern beige. The former is my fave for daily wear and the latter i use to mask brow hairs for cosplay. I was a heavy rotation guy but mister romand has won my heart with how light and cake free the texture is... 4) fwee BS02 Into - I was sad "Without" didn't really work for me but fellow olive girlies on xhs swatched this line and I felt like it's a close match! The texture is more waxy than the og but it also means it's far easier to blend out 5) Canmake Creamy Touch Liner 15 Cappuccino Pink - love it for "an essence of a wing", shading in the Triangle Zone, a touch of contour for aegyosal, a multiuse shade!! 6) 2an #16 bubblegum pink - I'm obsessed with the texture and the longevity. Most k-palettes oxidize over time and this one didn't (albeit it was a cold and non humid day). It's LaCroix pale like dasique but still shows up very well! I'm also in love with how girly the pinks are and the quality being actually good unlike peripera is ๐ฏ

I cleaned off my countertop so I was like what if 2025 beauty roundup ๐งโโ๏ธ
Part 1 fave buys, details in alt! I'm on my phone so it's probably typoes and formatting errors abound sorry LMAO
The downside is that the block is oriented towards daily wear so the sleeve was very fitted and the general advice was tough luck but luckily threads had a video from Andrew Schewe on sleeve cap theory. (Also rip to her blog it was my favorite read when I started sewing) youtu.be/GqFiVww0p84
I picked up a class from In House Pattern Designs and while a lot of the drafting steps are very similar to what you can find online for free...I found the fitting lessons and other tips verry valuable. And there's an added bonus of getting your questions answered!!!
Layers and layers of drafts

Several mockups and drafts later I've finally defeated the evil I've been meaning to tackle for the last 7 years....a proper bodice block with *working* sleeves!!!!! Happy new year wahooooo ๐๐โจโจโจ

craft foam cut in a vague star trek badge shape then curled into an ear shape with a flat iron my biggest "oh this is so convenient" was watching the flat iron heat seal the craft foam LMAOOO
craft foam ears and crimped wig wefts
drying wefts in a circle I do not have the fabled uhu so I used clear tacky lmao, a serrated takeout knife works really well to work in the glue and flatten the pieces
Finished ear Steps 1) Straighten and tidy up wefts 2) Hot glue wefts around the bottom hole, do it in a way that makes the most sense for the fibers to lay 2a) if you have tiny gaps just peel off tiny bits of weft from a spare and glue on... No need to make the base thick and crusty 3) Hit each weft with the flat iron as needed 4) When you're done gluing you will have a big mass -> trim and thin as needed, note the pile of cut hair behind my finished ear 5) Hairspray > shape > blowdry or electric fan to dry > repeat until desired ear forms 6) glue tip together with the slightest bit of glue
used a tutorial from xhs to make my umamusume ears ๐ fairly simple but requires patience and imbuing your very essence with hairspray #cosplaywip
