I used to do a post mini series called "Japan Did It Cheaper!" And featured this game at one point.
American copy is ~$230, the Japan is ~$5 😂 There aregameplay differences; Bomberman is faster in the NA version, and in the JP version if you die, you lose all your power ups....But $200 cheaper!!!
Bomberman Hero being the way that it is makes a lot more sense when you find out that it was originally supposed to be a Bonk game
