Be warned, you'll have to cut out a bunch of firewall and trans tunnel and relocate the main engine bay crossmember to make it fit. I had a midget in similar condition that I shoved a 13b in years ago, there was a lot of cutting and welding involved.
Its funny you say that because I only barely know what any of those things mean either

Thanks man. The seat was a solid 30% of the work in the whole project. Its an unmodified sportster frame. its funny, when you take the tank seat and rear fender off of a solid mount sportster, the frame is essentially the same as any other bike of the era. The styling is all bodywork.
(It runs like shit for Reasons and the gas tank developed a leak shortly after this, but damn if it doesnt look cool sitting in the garage)
btw i "finished" this

This is my answer to the age old question "What if a Sportster was Sporty"
Beyond the aesthetic stuff, I'm eventually going to build rearset peg mounts for it to put them in a more standard position, and get spoke wheels on it. That's about it. I've been working on this since october, it feels good to be approaching the finish line.
All of the major fabrication is done, all that's left is to rebuild the forks, fit the kz650's front fender, touch up some paint, do a little wiring, and put it back together. Hopefully just in time for spring.
Also found an ancient long tube 2-1 header for an early ironhead on ebay and repaired it/fit it to my late model ironhead. Sounds wicked and looks the part.
I machined/fabricated a bunch of parts to make the tank and rear fender bolt up without cutting the frame at all. In addition I made a seat pan out of aluminum. that'll be getting upholstered in a couple weeks.
I adapted the tank and fenders from a 78 kz650 sr onto my 84 ironhead sportster. I love the bike but I was never a big fan of the pumped up harley look. In lifting the rear with progressive 13.5" shocks and lowering the front by swapping on a 39mm front end I have fixed the suspension geometry

I wonder if there's a psychological effect on everyone from constantly being surrounded by companies like "Home Freedom Relocation Services" instead of "Jim's Movers"
