But will it stop raining pleasethankyou?
By showing that some people might finally be held to account, I would imagine
The cruelty is the point
Thank you, El! The fact that Sophie, the warrior in waiting and darling of the West London set, called you to endorse my comments has left me rather giddy and star-struck! ๐ป
Je agree, cher Sophie, mais could je slap l'homme d'orange around his visage avec un poisson froid et mouille? The thought of bitey bitey him makes moi want to vommy vommy ๐คฎ
She looks very regal! ๐
I do hope you feel better soon โค๏ธ
Poor dog!

Iโve dreamt about a swift brick win & front pages of newspapers but this is a nightmare. Itโs not a win. This is a meaningless policy with no legal requirement, no enforcement & no transparency inviting housebuilders whoโve bragged about blocking swift bricks to do it themselves
It's good news in theory, but very odd that there was previously a three-line whip against swift boxes. Can anyone explain more about this?
It's the same with cats! ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Let's hope it's the former. Appeasing murderous psychopaths doesn't tend to end well...
Gluten free apple crumble
This is what many of us have been saying. Part 3 of the Planning & Infrastructure Bill is based on a myth: that we don't have enough homes because wildlife and green spaces are protected. It will solve nothing, and inflict terrible harm on our remaining ecosystems

โAll this ethereal summer visitor asks is help in finding a spot. Labour however cares nothing for this miracle. โฆ. This is wrong. Swifties everywhere must fly to the aid of this marvel of the air.โ - The Times
Utterly repellent. They've lost my vote.

In 2023, the Labour party supported mandating swift bricks, whipping FOR the swifts brick amendment. 2 years later, the same Ministers in charge of Housing put a 3 line whip (the most extreme block) AGAINST swift bricks. Listen to the strength of support in this powerful speech.
And we have a morally bankrupt government which is happy to help them all the way.
That would have much such a difference and cost so little. I'm guessing the housing industry os so hell-bent on profit that they will happily push to extinction what little nature is left in this country.
I would've written the exact same post, Stew, but you beat me to it. There's something very odd going on here. The previous government was initially in favour, then categorically against. The same with this government. And a three- line whip is so out of proportion to such a little measure...
Ah, Trow Vegas! Yes, it's named after a person ๐
Making your cat look stupid so other people can laugh at it. Well, aren't you clever...
Norman's a lot hairier than I remember...
Neither do I. Both this government and the past one have been in favour of swift bricks and then mysteriously decided to block them. I can only assume the housebuilding industry simply can't be bothered and has thrown a lot of cash in the government's direction to make it go away.
I'm still seething about the swift bricks and now this. They're morally bankrupt.
This is the straw that broke the camel's back with this government for me. It's such a little measure and so easy to implement, but instead they've decided to go down in history as the govt that caused the extinction of the swift in the UK. They can go to hell and I'll never vote for them again.
