I was sad to see Socfin hasn't fixed the problem with its Action Plans - and that it remains pervasive.
I also found it at LAC and at PSG in Ghana. And Earthworm Foundation audits documented it at Socfin in Cameroon and Sierra Leone as well 😓
Rebecca works at LAC - the other Liberian plantation, where no news organization had reported from before, and where Michelin and others receive direct rubber supply.
I also found sex-for-work demands continued at SRC after your great reporting two years ago.
And I found it at Socfin Ghana, too.
The sad part is that Rebecca, like thousands of other women at Socfin plantations, still works at LAC. It is still owned by Socfin. Socfin only sold SRC, where Mamie used to work and says she was raped.
This rubber also goes to Michelin, Bridgestone and Continental tire factories in Europe. And palm oil from other plantations owned by the company, Socfin, ends up in Nestle food products.
