Taken together, our findings support that an acknowledgment and openness to work within a vegetarians/vegans values within tx may contribute to enhanced experiences.
We interviewed 17 participants (76% female, 41% vegan) with a history of receiving ED treatment while being vegetarian/vegan and found five main themes.

The proposal of the vegan-informed approach to care is super interesting and absolutely an area for future research to support this framework! Exploring trauma may also provide a useful steppingstone to understanding this relationship.
There are several helpful resources for clinical practice in here, such as questionnaires, checklists, and potential indicators of pathological vegan adherence. Clinicians may look to review these resources when working with vegan clients.
This book so beautifully broke down the many facets of veganism and its intersection with EDs. You absolutely do not need to have an expert knowledge on the topic to read this book.
