Got to confess I’m not convinced by facebook’s new AI search function.
But also, how does peanut butter impact relationships? Not something we considered before we got married.
Great stuff, well done!! We (in central London) have a deal with our local council that we can close off the road for a time around drop off and pick up. It definitely helps, but it isn’t perfect: there are obviously strict rules about staffing it; bikes still come roaring through. It’s hard.

Mariesa this looks stunning. A friend of mine wrote her masters dissertation about how the negative portrayal of sharks in film and lit has impacted efforts to conserve their habitats and populations. This is fab.
Threw a pen across my desk in frustration. It hit my keyboard and has chipped off the F key - a key that I get quite a lot of use out of, obviously.

One incredibly tired but proud Head of English. Book Week has been a triumph. The children really impressed in our poetry competition today.

Meanwhile, my husband reckons he’s said the words “Remember you are dust and to dust you shall return” at least 200 times today across all their services.
Super proud of him: he was part of a service in Westminster Abbey today, which he says was especially powerful on Ash Wednesday.
A school hall set up for a book fair: there are book shelves and tables with lots of children’s books on display.
And of course no Book Week would be complete without a visit from the Hatchards Piccadilly book fair. What a treat to get to explore so many beautiful books, all guided by their expert children’s booksellers! They are so knowledgeable and brilliant at making recommendations. Thank you.

We had a great visit from writer and illustrator Kate Rolfe yesterday, who came in to visit the smallest members of our school. Wiggling Words is a fab little book about having fun with letter shapes - amazing for young readers who find that the words just won’t sit still on the page!
A particularly lovely visit from author Anna James @acaseforbooks.bsky.social yesterday! We LOVED exploring Whetherwhy with you. You’re so engaging with the children, and they’ve been buzzing ever since.
I also bought a copy of Tilly and the Bookwanderers for my niece, who will love it!

I think your message about the building blocks of storytelling and what a story actually is really struck a chord with some of our older ones too. They get so bogged down in the detail that they often forget to just tell the story. Thank you.

I’m loving that the lesson on the poem yesterday has clearly sunk in…!
A copy of the book Towards the End of the Morning, by Michael Frayn. The book cover has a black and white picture of some men working in an office, in about the 1960s, with the author’s name in pale blue.
This is comedy gold. I’ve always liked Michael Frayn - Noises Off is one of my all-time favourite plays, and this is exactly the same sense of humour. It’s been a while since I’ve actually laughed out loud at a book!
