www.bbc.com/news/article... Fantastic work by BCP council and the outdoor centre volunteers.
Under the leadership of Cllr Mike Cox, Dep. Council Leader and cabinet member for finance, Lib Dem cllrs have successfully delivered a balanced 2025/26 budget for BCP. This achievement faced minimal opposition from the Conservatives, who'd led the council into deficit during their administration.
At a moment when we desperately need a fragile truce to hold, Trumpβs ramblings on Gaza risk having the effect of a bull in a china shop.
The UK needs to make clear that these proposals must be rejected, and that we support international law and a two state solution based on 1967 borders.
BCP has "transformed" its children's services, now rated "good" in its latest Ofsted inspection.
Cllr Richard Burton, member for children, said: "BCP is now a much better place for children and young people to live. Our children's services team has done very well."

β TODAY β
I'm proud to present my πͺπΊ Youth Mobility Scheme Bill π¬π§ β a vital step to give young Brits the chance to live, work, and study across Europe.
The botched Brexit deal robbed them of these opportunities. It's time to fix that and reset our relationship with the EU.
Merry Christmas from all the Christchurch Lib Dems.
Glad to see Richard Tice taking such care over UK fishing. It is just a shame that neither he nor any of his Reform colleagues could be bothered to show up this afternoon to my debate... on UK fishing.
Odd and at the same time predictable that Broadhead is the first person quoted here...Local plan target is 1,600 homes ..govt say 3,000 so apparently BCP opposes the government www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/2479010...
Not bad at all.
www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/2477021... we might be able to rummage up a senior team, perhaps.
Former mining country not far from Orgreave....as pointed out by @charliemansell.bsky.social in the other place: UKIP got 38% here in 2014.
βProportional representation would instantly give a lot more trust in politics because people would feel their vote actually counts. The two party system forces you to be opposites all of the time and you lose the nuance of the debate.β

I know BBC Oneβs overnight results programme was bad this election, but I hadnβt realised it was βthe first two replies havenβt noticed there are 72 Lib Dem MPs nowβ bad.
This is sudden, horrible and disruptive for the residents.. feels like it happens every other year. Better sites for park homes need to be found.
Fantastic effort
Getting in the mood for more Wolf Hall π
Hina with Cllr John Oliver standing in the rain with an umbrella next to a libdem sign at a local street surgery.
Rain, what rain?! Weβre out all weathers to make sure we meet our local residents and serve our constituents.
Read this over my morning coffee and itβs excellent. A must read for anyone interested in voting patterns (especially gender gaps) in the 2024 GE.
Excellent work @cerifowler.bsky.social @profrosiecamp.bsky.social @annasanders.bsky.social & Rosie Shorrocks π
They look like the food of the gods when you've had a few.
Not Woke..but only when served with bitter, mild or Carling.
www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/2472692... Fantastic effort by councillors led by Cllr Tarling, Cllr Cox and acting town clerk James Atkinson. The purchase of the largest and busiest car park in the town will guarantee 90 minutes free parking & secure the Waitrose site for years to come.
