I was specifically referring to any AI model that currently exists. The way the tech works has no chance of ever "getting better" in the way that it is commonly discussed. It is a dead end. All it does is obfuscate LLMs' lack of sophistication better.

The people who can tell are intentionally lying to make more money from people having a hard time understanding what the tech is or what it's capable of. Also perpetually hiding behind "in a year it will" as a permanent moving goal posts grift scapegoat.

This isn't the first time in recent memory that Bungie has been caught stealing art. One time you fire the individual - two, three or more? That has to be a systemic issue which I believe you can point a finger at Bungie as a company.

Exactly this. The artist even said in public they couldn't afford to pay for legal proceedings, so it all feels like they settled "under duress". They had no leverage and probably got steamrolled, had to settle for very little and get NDA'd to hell and back.

They still stole it and if the artist didn't make an accusation they would have just gone ahead. It's wild to run defense for this sort of stuff when Bungie has a history of plagiarism.

Hi Cory. I wasn't sure if I would cover it (I have a hard time seeing violence on cats, even in an over the top cartoon way) so I didn't end up getting a code. There's a chance I might down the line, but I'm not 100% if I will. Sorry about that.

I agree and want to add as well, I'm not likely to click through links at all unless I'm really certain I know everything about the situation. I've been scammed by valid looking proposals (I had my YouTube channel stolen) and I know what to look for, having been doing this for 13 years.

The need for art is a vital, primal need to connect to the people around you somehow. I needed to have that screamed into me until I couldn't hear anything for the next day.

The world never made any sense outside of those moments. Complete strangers united entirely by their love of music. Violently dancing, thrashing and punching, yet the most safe place I ever felt. Unafraid to be injured - I was afraid to be away from understanding those other people in silence.

My view on art is inextricably linked to when we were 16 and going to hardcore shows every weekend we could. Absolutely no idea why this meant so much but aching to test the limits of "if he falls, pick him up". They always picked me up. Everyone there was screaming and filled with life.

$14 cocktails just makes me immediately in a bad mood. Everything is unaffordable.

-The subreddit for Marathon is kinda hilarious - I haven't seen almost any negative posts, just loads of people angry about negative posts. 🤣

-I still don't like extraction shooters and this game only reinforced that. You'll die instantly over and over for reasons you may not even understand and have to wait through 5-7 min of loading and menus.
-I really wish this was just a story based single player Marathon game, not a live service.

-Difficulty balance seems to be exclusively tuned for trios, playing solo is maybe impossible, even vs PvE robot groups.
-Feels almost nothing like classic Marathon aside from the lore screens shown like the old terminals.
-So many cool weapon and creature designs they didn't use for some reason.

I streamed Marathon (2026) for about 5 hours today. My takeaways are:
-Runs well, gunplay is punchy, animations look good.
-Visuals average toward good. Sometimes moments of real artistry appear, sometimes it's garish dissonance.
-UI is a mess, needs to be thrown away and rebuilt.

It's still not too late to port the Motorstorm games to PC.

I've dabbled a bit but haven't gotten out of the "I need tutorials for everything" stage. It is quite amazing to see all geo nodes can do.
