Fascism.
An odd quirk about Trump's revanchist nihilist imperialism is that the post-1945 international order was broadly set up for American hegemony but it required paying half a modicum of respect to the notion of shared rules and instead Trump wants a world where the US acts unbounded & the world obeys.

Tehran has vowed retaliation. Dr. Foad Izadi of the University of Tehran told Al Jazeera: βWe are fighting the epstein class that either rapes little girls or bombs little girls.β

Good morning. In case you were wondering, @evictionlab.bsky.social estimates that 7% of renters households in Allegheny County have experienced an eviction filing in the past 12 months.
In January 2026 alone, there were 1,123 eviction filings. That's up 5% from the same period for 2023 & 2024.

Yinz are wonderful. Funds needed met & now just working on trying to get things book & arranged.
You can stop sending money, but if there's - I'll put anything leftover toward however Crystal & the tenant organizing committee want to use it to help keep people warm & safe.

Crystal's been fighting for herself, her family, & her neighbors to have safe, livable housing for years while slumlords get federal tax dollars to subject Crystal to the inability to even get heat fixed in 10 degree weather.
Help me keep her & her family warm tn please: venmo.com/u/Mtthewrubiin
Lynd has refused to respond directly to polite letters from tenants, tenant delegations, marches, or rallies - and in December even called the cops on Crystal and her neighbors for sitting in the office and refusing to leave til they got answers
triblive.com/local/tenant...
Crystal has left messages, to no response. She was left on hold on Lynd's ~emergency~ hotline for over an hour and never spoke to anyone.
Tenants have been protesting Lynd & Trigild for a year now for their repeated failures to make repairs and persistent refusal to meet with tenants.
Trigild (www.trigild.com) is the court-appointed receiver that's supposed to be in charge of being a responsible third party to get things fixed up.
They hired Lynd Living (lynd.com/leadership/) to be the property manager - as in, they're the ones who haven't fixed this.
Also, why's this happening? Who's responsible? Well, the property's in foreclosure as the mortgage owner Bankwell (www.mybankwell.com/about) tries to sell it.
Crystal was worried whether a hotel would take her cash app, the tenant organizing we work on together through One PA's Renters United Allegheny hadn't ever needed to set up an emergency fund, so method to chip in to help get her in a hotel tn is my venmo. I'll post receipts

Crystal reported the issue to the health department this evening but it was after they closed. We're hopeful the county health department helps get her into a hotel for safe housing til it's fixed (& bills the landlord).
But it'll be 10F in the morning. We need a temporary fix to keep her safe now.
Crystal will keep fighting and protesting, but tonight, we're just trying to figure out some way to keep her safe ASAP.
Crystal White, a resident of the Hill District, attended the meeting to represent her neighbors in the Watt Street Comp 2, an apartment building. βThere are leaks, pipes breaking, missing floorboards and windows and doors that donβt lock,β said Crystal White, who lives in the Hill Comm 1 apartment building. βSewage backs up, appliances like refrigerators and stoves donβt work, and mice chew through wires and clothing, destroying belongings. Inspections and exterminations are not conducted.β White said that she and other residents had filed multiple complaints, sending emails and visiting the office in person, but Wednesday was their second in-person visit to the HUD offices. βWeβre not being directed to the right resources at all. Things have gotten worse, and weβve had to pay out of pocket to fix many issues,β she said. White also said that her health has been impacted. βThereβs a lot of mold and mildew in the house. Iβve fallen down the steps a few times, as has my daughter, because we donβt have a banister. Weβve had breathing problems due to the mold and itβs hard to store dry goods because of the mice,β she said. White said she sometimes cooks at a relativeβs house because sheβs afraid of the mice in her home. βI donβt feel safe eating at home,β she said.
Lynd manages properties locally in several counties and city neighborhoods. When tenants went into the Hill District office demanding a timeline for when repairs would be made, the property manager called the police on them. βThe fact that they care so little, itβs really disheartening,β a tenant tells Channel 11. βI had to buy my own water heater,β Crystal White tells Channel 11. βSome people are buying their own toilets.β
Demonstrating tenants said on Thursday β almost a year later β that things have still not been fixed. Their living conditions are getting worse, they said. Crystal White, 47, who lives at Central Hill Apartments in the Hill District, said tenants have been living in black mold, forced to purchase large household items such as toilets, experienced flooding and rodents. White, who lives there with her two children and a grandchild, who are each between the ages of 5 and 10, said that she canβt use almost half of the home due to the deplorable conditions. βWith the paint chipping I had developed some breathing problems and so have my grandbaby and one of my children,β White said. During the protest, a crowd of 35 people gathered on Granville Street. The group marched in below freezing temperatures over to the Lynd property management office in the Hill District, where a small group of current tenants and a protest organizer entered the building.
Crystal's has been actively speaking out, organizing for repairs and change and a voice for her and her neighbors for nearly 2 years.
She regularly leads protests, talks to her neighbors, organizes renters rights clinics, and joins meetings to plan all this with her fellow tenants.
βHelp neededβ
Crystal White is a tenant who's had no heat for a week in this dangerous cold, with congestive heart failure which increases risk significantly in extreme cold.
Help put her, 3 kids, and a service dog in a hotel to stay safe & warm through the night? venmo.com/u/Mtthewrubiin
maybe if they focused a tiny bit more on letting real people use their platforms instead of infesting all their tools with AI bs content & scam ads to be engaged by bots & click farms to increase bs economics & numbers, but no! social media exists for a collision of click farms & ai slop now
like, i'm pretty tech savvy! i use a pw manager, regularly use 2FA, understand how to use these things pretty well, and i've professionally run large meta platform accounts, business manger accounts and ad campaigns
and yet i more often give up rather than succeed at logging in
and yes i've changed my pw and audited the logged in devices and contact info, that's not the answer
is it just me or is logging into meta products from a computer now just an unnavigable maze half the time?
infinite loop login processes that keep bring me back to the login page after logging in, asking me to verify with a code from unspecified authenticator, no 2fa text/email arriving, etc etc
as some point people will start seeing that as closer to what's called a collaborationist than part of any resistance to fascism, and certainly not that voting for you is the path to fighting fascism
if you have legal power and a platform of public authority and press attention but use that to condemn how others oppose fascism than you do to concretely oppose fascism with the actual power you have,
most Democrats in Congress would've condemned the Warsaw Uprising and sternly demanded the Nazis investigate themselves for their conduct in concentration camps
