Yes! Read this! “Corridor zoning”, which packs high-density multi-family on major streets and transportation corridors, is classist discrimination to maintain a single family norm. You can see it on the ground on realtor.ca if you search for a condo (at any price) outside downtown in Vancouver, BC.

I appreciate all of you who use the Alt-text description for the images you post. As a blind dude I feel so much more included here.
For those of you who forget:
Did you know there’s a reminder in Settings/Accessibility to toggle on & then it won’t let you post image without Alt-text.
Thanks 🙏😎

White octagonal monument on a tiered concrete plaza, surrounded by concrete pillars in the shape of a T. Vancouver Sky Train is elevated in the background.
Did anyone else know that, near Clark Dr and 4th Ave, there’s a monument to the Vancouver Expo? It seems abandoned and completely forgotten. Like a brutalist Stonehenge, the monument in the centre just says “October 11, 1986”: the last day of the Vancouver Expo.

This is great, I’ve been looking for something like this! Also, I love finding other Vancouverites interested in how cities work. Thanks!

A concrete half-wall with a tree and dirt in front. The wall is spray painted with a sign that reads “Do Not Enter. Private Property. Fair Warning!”
The irony of this “Do not enter: private property” sign is that it’s sprayed onto the footings of the public Cambie St bridge in Vancouver, 🇨🇦
