Thanks mate, I appreciate it a bunch. I'm glad people enjoy these models so much, they're a ton of fun.

Iron Warriors Chaos Space Marines for 2nd edition Warhammer 40k, featuring a Predator and a unit of 3 Havocs

Iron Warriors Chaos Space Marines for 2nd edition Warhammer 40k, right side shot of the Havocs
Iron Warriors contingent complete. It was nice to have a relatively easy paint scheme for once, aside from the damn stripes. 30 year old decals are also always flawed in application, but that's OK, they're neat either way. Nights Lords next? Lightning... #oldhammer #warhammer40k #miniaturewargaming
Thank you, it's a curse as you know.
As I'm building up a pool of 4th/5th edition Empire stuff, I have a hankering to rebuild a ton of 5th ed Bretonnia, which I don't need because I already have a large 6th edition Bretonnian army and help me please I have issues.
Can't blame you, Necromunda in any form is top tier, I have a bunch of that waiting for me as well.
They are really fun models, for sure. The asymmetry in all the details makes them very interesting to work on.
Like an absolutely dumbass I forgot to add the decals first. That has been corrected now.
Totally unintentional, there is no plan, it's for the kids, are you against saving kids? Are you a monster? Why do you hate security? Why are you a terrorist?
Word Bearers Chaos Space Marines for 2nd Edition Warhammer 40k
Word Bearers Chaos Space Marine Dreadnought for 2nd Edition Warhammer 40k
My Word Bearers contingent for my 2nd edition Black Crusade. Two things noted - there are some weird strands I can't see with my naked eye, and I need to learn why I can't take decent pictures after following all advice short of "buy a DSLR" #warhammer40k #oldhammer #miniaturewargaming
Disagreement about what is and is not a good miniature or kit is a time honoured grognard tradition, but always with a good pint together in mind at the end of it.
I very much put these alongside the later multi-part Chaos Warriors and to a lesser extent RTB01? I think they're important kits, but they aren't nice, the charm is more around your attachment to them. Bits of it are cool, but the metals of the time were still a massive improvement.
A screenshot from the Codex: Chaos from 2nd edition warhammer 40k of the Plaguebearer stat line
I never really looked at Daemons in the 90s, so this stat line was very confusing to me and contradictory to everything I am used to Nurgle being.
Hold up Desolator in one hand, hold up RT Librarian in the other, yes I see what they mean, yes.

First 2e Chaos unit done, a Veteran Alpha Legion squad protecting a Sorcerer. Next up probably the Word Bearers, or maybe some WHFB work. Posed as ever on the wonderful terrain work of @doctorspork.bsky.social #oldhammer #miniaturewargaming #warhammer40k
I wish that worked for Dragon Ogres
I feel like my past 16 years as a professional developer in corporate tech has reached a decision point, and it is eating me up. I can't not get paid, my family and others rely on me, but it all feels like giving up on the part of the job I actually love, the creation process.
As an airbrush user, for real justified. Totally unnecessary for this task, borderline infuriating at times, the amount of primer I have that has clumped up due to age is maddening. Rattles are so easy and consistent, you can't go wrong.
I look back at how good the 40k release was and feel real sad. 4 Commander decks, solid reprints, good variation, no boosters, no real chase cards.
I have been trying to use the black wash a bit and its miserable. Somehow they got a cap more annoying than proacryl while also more leak prone than citadel. Its kind of impressive.
Oh no, I'm very much coming at this from a personal nostalgia and artistic preference point of view.
In saying that, if any little shits try to tell me that Primaris are better than Firstborn, I'll give them the most contemptuous old man look I can muster.
Sometimes if I wonder whether I am being too much of a purist with my era specificity in models. Is it really such a crime to have a 6th edition cannon in a 4th edition army? Do I need those very specific weapon parts?
Yes. Yes it is.
The IP certainly has. It came at a great cost to the depth and artistic value, turning them in to a Call of Duty but for little models, but at a strictly market point of view? It's bloody everywhere, all the time.
Shit, at least I get a reformation of Nevermore that sounds sick with a vocalist who does justice to Warrell's legacy.
My dad was a huge Hiatt fan, I grew up listening to so much of his stuff, but I so rarely heard him mentioned in NZ beyond that. Congrats, that's damn cool news.
Yeah mate, for real. I only realised it was happening a little while ago, just how much of a toll it was taking on me. I'm receding, I'm barely interacting unless there's an obligation. It's like how I didn't handle my many issues in high school all over again. Kia kaha.
Every day it's another horror to make you want to leap. Or stay in bed. Shit's a real struggle mentally, emotionally, and I'm still living in relative comfort in my little south pacific hideaway.
Preach. "White" is a measure of their level of acceptability based on racist horseshit, nothing more or less. It's a farce, a total lie.
The Blitzkrieg book and Maginot Line box for Flames of War Early War period
Neat! Looking forward to building a French force, I really like this period technologically. This makes Monday a bit nicer for sure #flamesofwar #miniaturewargaming
Good news! I am very excited.
