I don’t think Whitehall are agile enough for the modern media age.
Here’s the thing: Labour went further left under Corbyn, and the electorate said no.
As soon as Labour drift too far from centre, the media and business absolutely rips them apart - and Britain votes the Conservatives in again.
Except next time, there’s a real chance Reform might get in.

Possibly the worst quality stream I’ve ever experienced on the service. Don’t get me wrong, I know 90s scifi has a lower resolution, but the encoding is god-awful.
The temptation of unlimited power tempered by all-consuming mutation.
After their homeworld has been occupied by Genestealers, Dark Angel marines cover their armour in white paint. A tradition of their ancestors, where they do not expect to survive the coming battle.
The marines enter a nearby town to locate the Genestealer infestation. The people are fearful of them, while in the shadows ranged creatures watch.
Recounting tales of their past, one of the marines tells a tale of his encounter with their traitor kin. He observes that Heresy does not arrive all of a sudden, but as a series of small steps away from rightful behaviour.
The marines locate Genestealer medical facilities deep underground.
