Mostly known as a writer and gambler. Some places known as a comic, a bartender, an accountant, a contrarian TV critic, a streamer, and a poster. More famous-adjacent than famous. "Be a flaneur once more."
It's so cool how everyone who's like "Platner isn't a Nazi!" talks like a Nazi
"Carmelo Anthony Mason Dinkins" lmao
This week's Matlock mentioned Silksong, and I'm probably the only person on Earth who cares about both of those things.
namely, finishing some writing that I've been putting off / slowly slouching toward completion, and testing the setup for the podcast to make sure it records correctly. if that's the case, I'm hoping to start recording episodes as early as this week!
anyway. Good news is I played a cash session over the weekend and that was pretty successful. I probably ran out, but it's encouraging in terms of "Oh, I CAN do this to make more consistent income from time to time instead of tournaments."
To be honest, I'm motivated to do a couple other things rn-
first chance at a big day in a long, long time. i just NEVER win those huge pots late. also never win huge-pot flips. i don't know. things were going really well today, and then i just got boned in a few key spots. and that's how a potential $7,000 day becomes a $450 day.
sigh. first real run for a chance at something meaningful, in the $55 50k Mystery Bounty. make it to 17 left and a maniac who's still playing like the big bounties are out and there's no ICM pressure whatsoever rips A9o and makes a full house.
so this new Scrubs revival, are the T-Mobile seasons canon?
the Twin Peaks opening credits, except instead of saying "TWIN PEAKS" the text says "THE GANG GETS STRANDED IN THE WOODS"

You know this is gonna be one of the best meals you've ever eaten.
There are many things I do not miss about Louisiana, but man, the food.
"Friends" is a etc. etc.
(this feels a little like cheating, since I assume Friends was a decent part of the pitch for the show here)
"Friends" is a beloved American sitcom that aired from 1994 to 2004, following six young adultsβRachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Joey, and Phoebeβliving in New York City. The show explores their friendships, romances, careers, and personal growth over ten seasons
having recently watched Fringe for the first time, I love this one, because, "Friendge," but also because I think you could title every Fringe episode "The One With..."
"Give us any chance we'll take it, give us any rule we'll break it... um... all we need is just a little patience..."
One thing I can definitely say about Strip Law is, if you want to see Tim Heidecker and Ken Marino as the leads in a live-action movie trailer for "Inherit the Wind but about Colton Burpo," this is the cartoon for you.
I may just be a sucker for that kind of "really obvious shitty knockoff of a real song, probably for legal reasons" joke, so "Opposite Overture" killed me.
also that November Nine line made a lot more sense when I wrote it weeks before the WSOP announced this year would be delaying the main event final table again.
As always, I am looking for submissions. If you submit, I promise I will not compare you to Dougie Jones.
I did have a lot of thoughts to that effect when the Mr. Jackpots storyline started so it's fine.
I wrote today's Sunday Special hand over at @puntoftheday.com, if you want to read about a fun little hand I wrote up and see what you think as to whether I can still play poker.

I don't know what to do for my mental game. Like I've been losing so badly of late that I'm starting to doubt if I even *can* win. If it wasn't all a fluke.
and I bust my last few tournaments also to 3-outers.
I've been winning 70/30s like 20% of the time.
six straight weeks of losing, and this might be the most preposterous hand yet.
