there's so much bad in the world but there's also people who lift up and carry an elderly bat around every day so he can pretend he's flying again, and that's the part of the world I think is worth fighting for

Three demaraxes, sort of crocodilian reptiles with gharial snouts and crystals all over their bodies; the green colored one is upright scratching its chin, the fire-colored one is on all fours absorbing a similarly colored crystal, and the last one is mostly brown with a blue upright tail kept up to intimidate the viewer and rainbow crystals.

Demaraxes ! One of my favorite D&D creatures from Planescape, they're slow and stupid but such a cool encounter since they're harmless (until you got spell crystals on your person...)
