Help me understand something. If you are asking what it did / didn’t do, who’s to say that a bad actor can’t ask the questions or gain knowledge about what is being planned, etc? How does it know who to tell what too?

The process is just long, frustrating, and time consuming. If people don’t have others to help them, they just don’t do it.
I have all the info and even have photo copies of the documents needed. The state of Utah needs certified copies. The state of NY needs an ID to get the marriage certificate. Because she lost that one, we had to hire an attorney to get it. Her son has POA and even he couldn’t request it.
I hope it stays dead!

If you live in Davis County, Utah, go to burrn.org and check whether your signature is listed. If it is and you don’t support gerrymandering, take steps to remove it according to the instructions at that website.
I had to call 4 different counties / departments in NY before someone told me to hire an attorney! So, that was a month ago, not sure how long the process will take. It’s not an easy process, especially for older adults. They either need help and $ resources to get what they need.
She moved from another state, so she needs all the certified docs to prove how she got from her birth name to her current name. I have been trying to get this info for months. She is in UT. I have talked to anybody and everyone that would talk to me about what is needed and how to get a MC from NY.
My 83-year old MIL moved and lost her ID. She also doesn’t have any documents other than her BC, but she was married a few times. In order to get a marriage certificate from NY, you need an ID or you have to hire an attorney to get the documents. This is a freaking nightmare!
