The cats have been hitting the litterbox hard today. Donate at least $5 to my fundraiser for EveryLibrary to make sure theyβre peeing with purpose. Thanks!

Maybe we ought to win this race.
This is not good.
Gonzales' withdrawal effectively hands the GOP nomination for #TX23 to Brandon Herrera, a 30-year-old Youtuber and gun manufacturer who describes himself as a Second Amendment absolutist.
The sprawling district covers 800 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border and the town of Uvalde.
So, she's terrorized our country so let's have her do that for the whole hemisphere now?
Respect.
SDPL Clara Breed Civil Liberties Lecture Maggie Tokuda-Hall in conversation with Mike Sakasegawa of the Keep the Channel Open Podcast. Tuesday March 10th, central library 6-8pm Also a pic of my face from 10 years ago, I look great.
Who do I know in San Diego? I will be there next week at the SDPL and I am afraid that I do not have enough people there.
I will be talking about the Japanese American Incarceration, book bans, and what our current climate of censorship yields for us while simultaneous state sanctioned raids occur.
So excited that I'm going to be able to go to #SXSWEdu this year! Found out last minute!
THE HORRIFIC BOOK BANNING BILL IN WYOMING WAS KILLED.
IT'S DEAD!!!!!!
If your knee-jerk right now is "yeah but so many other ones," cool. *Not right here or right now.*

One item of good news is that Toth is out of the Txlege. Bad news for Congress tho
"This raises the very bleak prospect that Herrera, a professional gun fanatic & gun-rights extremist, could come to represent Uvalde, home to the worst school shooting in state historyβone that likely could have been prevented with a simple age-limit increase." www.texasobserver.org/shriveled-so...
I hate this. So much. A few weeks ago, I was at a forum with Steven Pico, who said, βBook banners are very good at choosing excellent literature.β This is just more proof of that. Read what they hate; youβll be better for it.
Since the state was sued by a group of authors, as well as the estates of Maya Angelou and Kurt Vonnegut, Utah has been on a banning *spree*.
Four more books were banned yesterday, including another title by one of the authors suing the state.
For Texas elections follow @texastribune.org - better than natl sources.
Just finished reading Renee Watsonβs All the Blues in the Sky. It deserves every accolade it has gotten. An amazing YA title on grief, love and loss. @thedailyshow.com Colbert would love it.
wow -- Tillis goes ballistic on Noem, telling her "what we've seen is a disaster under your leadership"
Proud to support my dedicated colleague @becalzada.bsky.social for @amlibraryassoc.bsky.social President! She is principled, brave, and focused! I respect all the candidates but hope you will consider supporting Becky!

A generation ago, there was no such thing as YA books. We all went from Narnia and Judy Blume to adult books. Honestly, these people are so ridiculous.
Even in the 50βs they didnβt put a wall around the adult section of the library. And yet every young adult carries the internet in their pocket. So absurd. List of books at end.
