A ★★★½ review of Marty Supreme (2025) Kept wanting to yell at my screen TO WHAT END??? -- a similar reaction I had to the first few episodes of The Bear (which, to be fair I did end up liking before it too fizzled out post season 2). Like...

Oh Marty Supreme. I hovered between 3.5 and 4 stars for this one but ultimately felt like it was a lot of chaos in service to a sort of paper thin idea. I'll admit to liking it a lot more than I thought I was going to.

A ★★★½ review of Sentimental Value (2025) This review may contain spoilers. Visit the page to bypass this warning and read the review.

I loved Worst Person in the World, did not connect with Sentimental Value in the same way. Kind of left it without having any thoughts about it at all (other than about architecture): letterboxd.com/emmacasley/f...

A ★★★★ review of One Battle After Another (2025) hmmmm....I feel both like this is clearly a very well made movie and also like it was maybe just not for me at the same time? I appreciate what it's going for and there were definitely moments and seq...

One Battle After Another! Really wrestled with my feelings on this one. Maybe it's simplest to say it's both very good and not quite for me.

A ★★★★ review of Bugonia (2025) Really feels like an excuse to just let Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons act their butts off -- and I'm not complaining! I'm not totally sold on some of the plot points but overall found the themes it was...

A ★★★★½ review of Sinners (2025) I'm losing my mind this was so good. The story sort of slowly envelopes you and I lost myself in the 2+ hour screen time. It's visceral, it's tactile. You feel it in your bones. You leave the theater ...

Sinners!! I've watched it four times since my original review and have loved it every time: letterboxd.com/emmacasley/f...

List of February recommendations! Got really into Robert Jackson Bennet’s #TheTaintedCup — a great plane read imo. Plus a cute picture of a pair of mourning doves on my window sill 🐦

A Friday evening alone with nothing to do meant I finally had time to sit down with this three and a half hour film — the pace and the length really made it feel like Marty’s take on a prestige crime drama miniseries

a woman in a gray dress holding a cat and saying we must be over the rainbow Alt: Dorothy from the wizard of oz holding her dog toto saying "we must be over the rainbow"

Definitely the cutest audience reaction I've witnessed was at a screening of WIZARD OF OZ. When they're escaping the Wicked Witch and Toto comes to the rescue, a little kid, while gripping the rails of the balcony, shouted "jump Toto, jump!!"
