I get why people want portfolio sites like that i just would rather not have likes/front page kinda stuff on mine, I think i prefer having a separate portfolio website i customize to myself and not have to think about that. Unless its interactive like tegaki

Like I tried being active there socially too with journals but it just never clicked for me personally. I have a lot of interests tangential to art but not like just art that I couldn't share there either so it felt very clinical. Just a portfolio

The only gallery only site I enjoyed truly was tegaki e. Using the same format and tools but everyone making something different was so fun. It was nice to see also hand drawn RP, handwriting enthusiasts and people just having fun scribbling

I dont necessarily hate gallery websites like deviantart but I felt like I never vibed with it or pixiv art community wise, it didnt really feel connected to like people who werent already very invested in art

I think its very obvious how to game social media to farm engagement so it really doesnt need to be said. If thats your goal thats fine but it doesnt really have anything to do with art, and I only want to talk about art not metrics so I understand the sentiment of ppl staying silent about it

What people consider big artists is really funny. Ive never had an account anywhere reach 20k follows or had a super viral post and multiple times ppl have asked me how to do well on sns. With the amount of ppl on twit and insta that have 100k follows idk why you'd think im doing anything right

Oh ok I figured out what the artist discourse on twitter was about. Apparently people were mad that "big artists" werent sharing their social media hacks for getting lots of likes lmao

I do think it is very possible for historie to get a good adaption it just needs lots of love. Its not a manga where the adaptions will always be inferior and they shouldnt bother like innocent

I hope it pops off and defeats parasyte as the authors most well known work in the west bc I think parasyte was fun and great conceptually it was not narratively as insanely good as historie.

I think historie manga is so good I will be shocked if the anime is even close to a decent adaption of it but even if its not the story is that good you should probably watch it anyway. But if the anime is good it will go fucking crazy

Im not just mad about the fact its in universe like not really reflective of existing lore obviously. Its just extra insulting bc if they were going to be surface level about the culture its based on they could at least care about the game lore and included relevant npcs. Nope.
