I didn't know that! But these trees were usually planted alongside fields so I don't think livestock could reach them (but it's possible)

I think they used mulberry mostly for feeding the silk moths and harvesting the fruits but it's possible!

Mulberry tree - back in the olden days, they were everywhere in the Italian countryside. Now only a few remain, but I've always been fascinated by these chonky bois with lots of thin branches
