This is really difficult to do, but our huskies are now old and suffering. We are having to think about euthanasia now, but we were shocked to find out that we have to pay £400 per dog. Because of recent struggles, including to out food in the table, we are having to ask for help 1/2

Damn it! The Trust I applied to go a grant has now decided that they will no longer be helping PhD students with funding 😢. Back to square one then.

Has any fellow PhDers found weird and wonderful grants? I’m in a bit of a grant wormhole at the moment, trying to fund the final year of this PhD (while also feeding the family). Any advice will be thankfully received.

I am not too proud to say that I have had to use them this week, money is so tight (well, I have none left), it’s not a situation I was expecting to find myself in but there we are. Does anyone know of any grants/ bursaries for Classics PGRs around, who are facing financial hardship?

Sadly, Friday was the last day that I was officially supervised by Judith Mossman. It has been phenomenal being supervised by such a powerhouse and I have learnt so much. I will finish this PhD for me, but also for Judith and Daniel Anderson who took a chance on me.

🤦‍♀️ I so know this will be me.

Me trying to explain to my non-academic friends how a referencing manager is currently ruining my life!

Issues still continue. 😭

Referencing software is great until they release updated versions and you can’t get the old version, which is used throughout your entire thesis, to work.

I have done some proofreading/ editing in the past, but I only found those jobs because a friend was kind enough to give my details out. I have struggled to find anymore with self-advertising etc.

It’s a good idea, that I have briefly looked into before, but seems that it’s a very over saturated market.

Just to note, I do work a part-time job alongside!
