I adore the weirdness of this story. It stands on its own perfectly, but it’s also one of those rare cases where I thought that I would really love to read a novel set in this world. Or perhaps a whole series of short stories…

And @alasdairstuart.com’s hosting track is, as always, marvellous

Relevant to AI writing, Toni Morrison, Octavia E. Butler, and Sonia Sanchez noted that many want to be writers but don’t wanna write.

As Morrison said, β€œWriting has become almost a celebrity thing in the sense that people don’t want to write; they want to be authors. And that’s quite different.”

#manuscriptwishlist #mswl I want sci-fi with the same spacefarers-as-seafarers feel as the best Star Trek series. Master and Commander but in space. Drama on the bridge. Mutiny in the lower decks. Emotions (mostly) repressed because the chain of command doesn't allow for them.
