They might not need dishonesty - at 14+ a fair few of the participants will have finished puberty anyway, so wouldn’t taking blockers without hrt starve them of oestrogen or testosterone and make them feel bad physically?

You can’t be fired for being trans… but of course you can be if your productivity falls from having to trek to another floor to get to the only toilet you’re allowed to use

Reminds me of that letter Sex Matters wrote about young people previously being misled about being able to pass but now that they’ll be outed by being banned from spaces there’s no point them getting medical treatment (or something along that lines)

I wish it was a joke, later on they interviewed Nigel Farage (not about trans kids, about Ratcliffe’s racist comments)

Interviewees on radio 4 complaining that it doesn’t say trans youth should always be outed to their parents and leaves space for schools to be supportive in some cases

Research has shown that trans youth with supportive families have better mental health, and surely those who managed to get a referral to GIDS are more likely to have supportive parents? So even without this data it’s a fair presumption that those trans children not known to GIDS would have worse MH

The final two first edition hardbacks of my novel 1983 that I have in my house.

Two cut-out linoprint hares by my mum, Jo. This is a hare linoprint which she originally did to illustrate a chapter in my earlier (non-fiction) book, Ring The Hill, which has a hare subtheme darting through it.

I thought it might be nice to give away my last 2 signed hardbacks of my novel 1983, with two lovely linocut hares by my mum.
