Travelling back home to Coniston this afternoon, I just had to stop and get a quick phone shot. π
It is the first day of meteorological spring tomorrow, so I went looking for it this afternoon on the shores of Coniston.
Iβve never made the trip, but intend to this summer π
And now, the first signs of spring are awakening π
High levels of water in the lake, low light levels and a gusty wind. Just a normal winters day in Coniston.
I think Ms Mitchel must have been to Coniston at sometime.
Even on a dark, damp day, I couldnβt resist a quick phone shot from The Terrace at Brantwood this morning.
Thanks Linda ππ
Thank you Cristy π
Itβs a beautiful area. I just try to do it justice with my camera π
Very much a roots route.
An enjoyable walk around the Loughrigg area this morning, with coffee and cake at Chesterβs of course π

Some more of the many bird species seen at South Walney this morning. Redshank, merganser, turnstone and golden eye.
Canada geese on South Walney and a lapwing trying to be a Canada goose π
Some views across Morecambe Bay from South Walney Nature Reserve in the beautiful winter sunshine this morning.
A cold day in Coniston, but at least the snow stayed on the hills⦠for now.
Well, once bittern twice shy I guess.π
As an apology that just doesnβt cut it!
Ratcliffe is making it difficult for me to continue my 60 years + support for the club, but I hang onto the fact that his inaccurate outburst is at odds with the clubβs stated policy on racism and the hope that his tenure is brief.
Thanks Linda, Iβm particularly proud of my water feature π
Your pictures of Normandy look very soothing. I love exploring the D Day beaches, but have yet to visit Mt St Michel π
