Sean Speer:

Those calling for the so-called “remigration” of people who immigrated legally are either arguing for sweeping constitutional reforms that are politically implausible—or for an authoritarian government willing to carry out a massively unconstitutional removal of citizens and permanent residents in defiance of courts and sustained political opposition.

This isn’t about rightly enforcing immigration laws. And it’s not a one-off use of the notwithstanding clause.

It would require a systematic suspension of constitutional rights for large numbers of people.

Radical doesn’t begin to describe it. Those advancing it should be honest about what they’re actually proposing.

Quoting Daniel Tyrie:

I'm not radical, I'm the voice of reason.

It's not controversial to recognize that being Canadian is about more than having a piece of paper.

To be Canadian is to be a part of an intergenerational lineage stretching back to the pioneers that settled and built this country from nothing.

This is an obvious reality that everyone understands whether or not they are willing to admit it yet.

I'm just the guy who's willing to say what everyone else is thinking.

It’s quite something to watch “reasonable” Conservatives in this country waking up to the fact that their movement is being taken over by white nationalists/supremacists (while Poilievre tiptoes around them because he wants their votes).

Going to take this opportunity to remind the defenders of age verification legislation that this is exactly what is going to happen if it comes to pass. Queer and trans material, no matter how innocuous, will absolutely be declared "explicit" or "pornographic" and invasively age-gated.

Poilievre's lies about my client illustrate a wider problem with grievance politics Conservatives have no qualms about undermining our courts or public institutions

A man like this can't change. Despite what Andrew Coyne attempted to sane wash his recent europe tour and speeches, Poilievre is not anything Mark Carney. He's Justin Trudeau of the CPC.
