the blue-lighting is also wired to a switch, so i can turn it off if it gets too distracting. I don’t see myself doing that though, as imo the gentle blue glow it cascades throughout my entire interior at night is extremely cooooool
I also took the liberty of wiring new blue back-lighting as the factory blue neon was unfortunately broken.. by me… when i originally disassembled this thing for troubleshooting. the pain of that tremendous failure is a big part of the reason this project has been on the back burner for so long lol
After sitting in my closet with a dead amp and blown voice-coil on the factory 8” speaker for literal years, I FINALLY fixed my Carrozzeria WX200A Subwoofer for the MR-S. Absolutely stoked about this!

this new phenomenon is… different. it’s actually just genuinely horror shit that would 100% creep any full-grown adult out. in FNAF there are just actual themes of torture, murder, child death. just straight up child death + reanimating as a major core theme of the franchise. idk, it’s weird.
i think the difference between something like goosebumps and the current kid-focused horror in present day pop culture is that goosebumps was not something that would genuinely spook an adult. it was the literary equivalent of luigi’s mansion. horror themed, sure. but totally for kids

i always enjoyed mojangs original quiet-embrace of herobrine while always exercising the dignity of not literally putting him in the game.. because the game is supposed to be mildly relaxing and an outlet for creativity! Now every update just adds some new dark shadow kill-you-instantly monster
and on that same topic; why are children with age ranges in the single digits becoming more and more fascinated with macabre? is this not mildly concerning? am i being pearl-clutchy? i really don’t get it. When i was a kid i had a very natural instinct to avert my eyes to any form of horror media.
what is this… has the immeasurable cultural impact of shit like FNAF really solidified this generation of kids’ weird fascination with horror media so much that this is is necessary? what is this? why can’t the block game just be silly and whimsical? why does every update add a sooper scary monster?

overall the sony is the clear winner, which isn’t much of a surprise as the trinitron aperture grille is the plainly superior technology, but i think the panasonic is still a lovely little set and these differences aren’t really noticable unless you literally have them sitting side by side like i do
again, sony in the first pic. even though the panasonic seemed to have more intense brightness and contrast, the sony still managed to excel at shading definition. i think that’s really obvious above the eyelid and in the shadow of sonic’s nose here
first pic is sony, second pic is panasonic. Geometry and convergence difference between these two was pretty negligible, the convergence grid in the test suite looked really solid on both sets. Interesting how the regular slot-mask of the panasonic gives the impression of worse convergence
