I've experienced starting being off by 1 frame in some rare cases, but most of the time it's correct

I also use a LiveSplit plugin I wrote myself to snap all my split timings to the nearest multiple of 1/60th of a second, which helps in the cases where AutoSplit will sometimes take a few milliseconds to process. As long as it's not off by more than 8.33ms in the end it's 100% accurate

How would there ever be a discrepancy with using white flash as the cue?

If there's a mismatch, you test whether the mismatch is due to similarity/inconsistency or if your timing is wrong. Most of the time the timing is not wrong though, at least in my experience.

For example for escape, I have a specific frame of the white "ripple" that closes inwards on the screen, with a specific delay. I initially frame counted footage of this frame -> full white (the frame I want to split on) and used this as the initial # delay.

If you want it to be perfect you should do a run and confirm that the split time is the same as the total frame counted time, that's what I did to confirm mine. Either way, the "accurate" split timing offsets in ms always need to end in 00, 16(or 17), 33, 50, 66(or 67), or 83 to be valid in 60 fps

Splitting on wrong warps can be perfectly done on white flash consistently, and this is also where people split them manually, so changing it and going for full black fade in a situation where you don't even technically know if the wrong warp worked at that point doesn't seem right

Why are a lot of your delay times such odd numbers? Like 720, 530, 380, 3065, 1620, 3120, 880 for example, none of these are possible time offsets from a frame even in 60 fps, let alone in OoT's 20 most of the time

I underestimated how much faster I read Japanese now compared to when I last read a bunch of manga a year ago so I didn't order more manga fast enough for it to arrive before I finish everything I have
