Now that I'm not rushing, I'm actually enjoying the exploration and puzzles a bit more. My opinions on the characters and how they were utilized has also changed a little. This doesn't lower my enjoyment of the game, merely experiencing new perspectives each playthrough with new decisions.

On 2nd playthrough of Veilguard has me seeing certain parts of the game in a new light. I tried to be as thorough as possible with my 1st playthrough while rushing at the same time so I could "catch up" with everyone else without witnessing more spoilers. It was a partial success AND failure. +

Being a 30-something-year-old and having self-indulgent art/fanfic as a side hobby is not easy. Having a full-time job and IRL responsibilities (good and bad) means no free time-- or any free time you have you only have time to be curled up like a burrito, snoozing on the couch.

TLDR; Overall solid game, I adore the companions. Combat was very good. World design was wonderful. But the writing and plot needed work. Not all of the companions got the same amount of polish. I hope the next game in the series will take better care in that department.

So I finished Dragon Age: The Veilguard...

(My own small review on the game after my first playthrough, minimal SPOILERS, sorta.)
